Moxie Tattoo started as my (Jocelyn "Moxie's") Instagram handle back when I was apprenticing. As I evolved, so did Moxie Tattoo. I started my tattoo career in New Jersey where I completed my 2 year apprenticeship. I then moved to Los Angeles where I helped run a new shop location and learned so much about myself. Los Angeles was short lived, only 1 year, because tragedy struck my family. I moved back to NJ to be with my family and resided there for a couple years. During this time I met my future husband. In 2019, we moved to Florida to flee colder climates. I worked in a few local shops but soon realized that I was capable of running my own private studio. After tattooing for over a decade, I decided to pull the trigger. In May of 2022, Moxie Tattoo became my first ever brick and mortar shop. The saying, "if you build it they will come" has never been more true. I created a space where my clients could feel safe and comfortable. I teamed up with C.A.R.E. to spread awareness of SA in the tattoo industry and that year Moxie Tattoo won best tattoo shop by the City of Port Charlotte for 2023. I built this space as a private studio for myself. As a place where I could build myself and grow artistically in a peaceful space. I have plans for my shop that I haven't seen any other tattoo shop offer. I am open to expanding my shop if the right people come along. But until then, I will continue to grow as a tattoo artist, business woman and shop owner.
